Solid Knotty Alder wood bookcases and display cabinets

We've recently completed a beautiful set of bookcases and display cabinets that feature solid Knotty Alder wood book shelves and cabinets. They were designed and built to be strong and functional yet appear light and unobtrusive in the living room.

Roycroft Little Journeys Table reproduction

Beautiful Roycroft Little Journey's Table reproduction. This table was constructed in the traditional method of knock down furniture using wedged tenon joinery. The Roycroft Little Journey's Table is believed to be one of the first production pieces of knock down furniture. It is constructed using resinous cherry wood. This is a unique type of cherry that normally gets turned into fire wood in the eastern US saw mills. The beautiful veins of black and purple resin are a true wonder of natures handiwork and artistry. You have to see this wood to believe it.

Arts & Crafts bunk beds

These red oak bunk beds are built along using Arts & Crafts style and craftsmanship. This set is made from a combination of flat sawn red oak and quarter sawn red oak. The quarter sawn red oak provides for very strong construction and medulary ray fleck that is a signature of Arts & Crafts.

Who/What is Diamond Lake Custom Woodworks, LLC

Furniture, cabinetry and crafts proudly made in the Great Northwest, USA.

Diamond Lake Custom Woodworks, LLC (DLCW) is a custom woodworking company located in Pend Oreille County in the northeast corner of Washington State on the south side of US Highway 2 at mile marker 326 near Diamond Lake, Washington. The company is located approximately 7 miles southwest from Newport, WA, 40 miles north of Spokane, WA and about 12 miles from Priest River, ID.

The shop is nestled in the hills surrounded by trees and wildlife. We are housed in a modern building with modern equipment. Even with access to modern machinery a lot of the work is done using hand tools and traditional woodworking techniques. Go here to read a more detailed story of who/what DLCW is.

Why us?

We firmly believe in customer attention, high quality materials (particle board is not allowed in our shop) and time proven construction techniques. If we wouldn't want a piece in our house we certainly don't want it in yours. Functionality is first and foremost in our minds. We don't build artistic pieces that will sit in a corner and not be used.

We are a small two person shop. Normally we work on only one project at a time so we can devote our 100% of our attention to it. We don't spread ourselves thin to where we have to cut corners to "get it out the door". We will deliver a project only when it is done to our satisfaction.

We use modern machinery for efficiency and batch work. However when it comes time for final fitting and assembly, hand tools are the order of the day.

Please give us a try. We look forward to working with you on your project!

Very traditional farm trestle table made from beautifully figured curly maple. The very strong curly figure on the top highlights this simple yet elegant table. The breadboard ends are another signature of this traditional table. A key design feature was that the client wanted to be able to easily disassemble the table and store it flat when not in use. That requirement was met by using wedged bubinga tenon joinery where the stretcher attaches to the legs. The legs are attached to the top using figure 8 fasteners. The legs and trestle are hard maple. Finish is hand rubbed oil/urethane.
